Eyes are perhaps the most beautiful part of the face; however, dark circles are the common problem that many people face. The under eye area is extremely sensitive and there are no oil glands in this part of the face. Lack of oil glands, make the under eye area vulnerable to get darkened and dull. Under eye dark circles can be due to various reasons such as, nutritional deficiency, lack of sleep, drug or alcohol abuse, stress, illness, exposure to harsh climatic conditions, or it can be hereditary as well. Tea bags or ice cubes: One of the most popular home remedies for under eye dark circles is the placing of cold tea bags over the closed eyes for 10-15 minutes. The tannin in the tea bag will reduce the discoloration of the eyes and will also reduce the puffiness. You can keep the tea bags in the fridge overnight, to use it in the morning. The caffeinated tea bags can do wonders to your eyes, making them look fresh and healthy. The regular use of tea bags will reduce the dark circles and will also help you prevent them. You can also use the ice cubes, after wrapping them with soft piece of cloth.

Cucumber slices: Thick cucumber slices placed over the closed eyes regularly will also help to reduce the dark circles and the under eye bags.

Raw Potato: Uncooked, raw potato also works effectively on dark circles. Place the potato on the liquidizer before scooping out a portion, to place it over the eyes for 10-15 minutes. Lye on your back and keep your eyes closed. Wash your eyes with lukewarm water after 15 minutes.

Frozen Spoon: Put a spoon in the freezer, take it out and put it on the eye, covering the circle around it. Hold the spoon over the eye till it comes back to the normal temperature.

Healthy diet: Apart from the above mentioned remedies, it is vital to find the real reason of the discoloration of the under eye area. Avoid junk, eat healthy and have sufficient sleep to rule out the internal reasons.
